The real-time traffic information solution NextAlert has been running since February 2021 to passengers on the Munich suburban train network in Bavaria (Germany), used by more than 840,000 people every day.
NextAlert is integrated into the München Navigator application of S-Bahn München, a regional subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, as well as into the application of the transport authority, Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund.
The NextAlert engine is a Smart City solution in which citizens are the first actors in their network: it allows the tracing of tweets and messages sent on the internal DB messaging system of transport users present on station platforms or in trains. This information is disseminated to the rest of the passengers via the Munchen Navigator and MVVapp applications. This enables them to follow the evolution of traffic to the minute. Indeed, the first people to notice disruptions in transport networks are … transport users themselves! This solution thus complements the communication of transport operators and enables them to keep passengers better informed during their journeys.
The NextAlert application has been acclaimed by users, who are happy to be informed more quickly and comprehensively, and also to be able to share information with other travellers in just a few clicks.
The Nextérité team takes its mission of informing public transport users very seriously and thanks Deutsche Bahn for its trust.
